I had arranged to have a
tarot / oracle card reading this morning, so I was up early to meet Denise who
would be doing my reading. She comes to the hostel every Saturday so I managed
to go before I checked out. What she said was scarily accurate!!!
Whilst I was getting my
reading done, Kayla arrived at the hostel. It seemed like ages since our
Topdeck tour so was really good to see her. Kayla helped me to load all of my
luggage into her car, and I checked out of the hostel. We drove into Byron Bay,
and after initially struggling to find a parking space, we managed to get one
near the beach. Kayla had never been to Byron Bay before, so I was the tour
guide for a change!
We wandered through the
town and into a few shops. We went to the Rainbow Shop, which seemed even
brighter than the day before. We also went and got some really pretty lace tops
which had been hand made in Byron.
We wandered down to the
beach and randomly bumped into Kayla’s auntie and uncle who were on holiday for
their anniversary. We stayed at the beach for a while and then were getting
quite hungry so decided to go for brunch.
We looked at a few restaurants before
decided to go to Byron Fresh Café. We decided to get a big breakfast as they
are SO much nicer in Australia than the UK!
After our brunch we
walked back to the car past some really cool street art.
We were planning to do
the Cape Byron Lighthouse Walk, which is at the most Eastern point of
Australian mainland.
We parked in Palm Valley
and started walking. We walked along the track through Wategos beach, and then
climbed what felt like never ending stairs. We stopped at a few lookouts on the
way and managed to see a few whales breaching which was cool.
We eventually made it to
the top of the lighthouse, which gave amazing views of Byron Bay! The
lighthouse was really pretty and the water was so blue!
We stayed up there for a
while looking for whales and then started walking back towards the car. We were
planning on spending the afternoon at the Crystal Castle just outside of Byron
Bay.
