Cullen Bay Marina 27/06/16

This morning was really chilled. I managed to get on to wifi and catch up with things going on at home. After lunch, Kayla and I went to a place called Cullen Bay, which was a Marina and beach. The beach was absolutely beautiful with palm trees everywhere and barely any people.

It was another really hot day so we went to dip our feet in at the water’s edge. You couldn’t swim there because of jelly fish stingers and the risk of crocodiles in deeper water (which we didn’t think of at the time).

We walked around the marina for a bit and went to a cafĂ© for snacks and my first proper cup of tea since arriving.

When I got back I had to sort out my Medicare for free healthcare treatment, although I’m hoping I won’t need it whilst I’m here. I did some souvenir shopping on the way back and then Kayla and I hung out at the pool with another Australian girl called Kelly who is room sharing with Kayla.

We decided to go to the Thai restaurant across from the hostel for dinner. I got an amazing ‘Pool Time’ cocktail which was served in a fresh coconut. Bonus that you got to eat part of it afterwards. We had so much food we were completely stuffed!

We came back to the hostel and I had to sort out my bag ready to leave for the Outback tour tomorrow. It was really nice as Sam, Kez and Marie were all in so we got to spend some time together before I left. I’ve had such a good time in Darwin I’m quite sad to leave.
