Edith Falls & Territory Day Fireworks 01/07/16

After canoeing, we went to Edith Falls which was another beautiful waterfall and plunge pool we could swim in. We had to hike 2k uphill to get there, so we were all glad when we could start swimming.

Kaitlyn, Roxy and I were filming and taking pictures with my GoPro, which turned out to be a lot harder to use when I was trying not to sink. We swam under the water and got some good footage.

After we had walked back down, we went to town to get dinner and wine. Kayla, Kath, Emily and I decided to make an ‘antipasto’ dinner, with cold meats, prawns, fruit, crackers and cheese.

We ate when we got back to the hotel and had some wine and shots that Ricky had brought. It was Territory Day in Australia, which is the only day it is legal to but fireworks. The rest of the year they are banned.

We walked to a little clearing outside our hotel (with our wine) and set them off. It seemed like everyone in Katherine had the same idea as they were going off all night.  It was like bonfire night at home.

We went back to our room, drank some more wine and then went to bed.
