We woke up early this
morning to head to Mataranka Thermal Pool, which is a natural hot spring in
Elsey National Park. The park is known as the setting for 'We of the Never Never', and we got to see the homestead near the pool.
We all had pretty sore
muscles after all the canoeing the day before so it was nice to relax for a
while.
We spent most of the day
travelling to Tennant Creek. We did stop at the Pink Panther Roadhouse, which
had a giant pink panther at the front. Everything was painted pink which was pretty unusual considering we were in the middle of the outback.
Whilst we there we saw a
few different animals and got to watch ‘Sam’ the crocodile being fed. We
managed to get really close on a viewing platform and he was swimming right
underneath us, which was a little unnerving. He was quite lazy for the first few attempts to get him to come out of the water. Eventually he jumped right up for the food which was really cool.
