Amy and I were both
checking out of the hostel this morning, so we brought our stuff down and had
breakfast together.
Amy then walked with me
to the bus station, as I was getting the 11.30am Greyhound coach to Sydney. The journey took
around 3 and a half hours, although again it didn’t feel like any time at all.
The outback drives had definitely got me used to being on buses.
I got dropped off at
Sydney Central Station, which was right in the city centre and two minutes from
where I was staying. I was at a hostel called Wake Up Sydney, which is one of
the most popular ones and well known for backpackers.
I checked in and dropped my stuff off, and
then headed straight out into the city. I walked through Chinatown to get to Chinese Garden of
Friendship which is a stunning 'secret garden'. It's full of bamboo plants, waterfalls and lots of Chinese cultural sculptures.
There was some great views and really pretty walkways. There's no point in the garden that you can see all of it, as most of the sculptures are hidden.
The weather was gorgeous and much nicer than Melbourne and Canberra. I spent around an hour in the gardens exploring, and then headed out to see the rest of Darling Harbour.
