After the Bridge Climb I walked through the Rocks to Circular Quay, which Sydney's main ferry terminal. As a lot of Sydney is based by the water, it's often the easiest way to get around. I had to get an Opal Card to travel, which is similar to the Oyster Card in London and the Myki
in Melbourne. I was quite worried about getting seasick, so I ended up carrying my travel bands a lot.
I had arranged to meet my friend Jude, who used to live next door to me in
halls at Uni. She was staying with her family in Manly, which is a suburb of
north Sydney directly by the beach. I boarded the ferry and got a seat outside so I could see the Opera House as we went past. I was really glad I did
as a school of wild dolphins swam past as we were sailing and were jumping out
of the water directly in front of me.
I met Jude at the Manly Wharf ferry
terminal and we went straight to Manly Beach. The beach was beautiful, so we sat
there for a while catching up and taking photos.
We then got an Uber to
North Point, which as a great lookout point that had brilliant views of Sydney
City.
We went back down to Manly, and had dinner and wine at a waterside restaurant
called Whitewater. We were directly next to the beach so could see the sunset
which was gorgeous. We met up with Jude’s
cousin Adam, and went and got some desert together. Adam and Jude then dropped
me to the bus station where I headed back to Sydney. We drove over the Harbour
Bridge which was cool.
The bus dropped me at Wynyard station and I got a train from there back to Central Station near Wake Up. I spoke to
mum, updated my blog for a bit and then went to bed.
