I got the Manly Fast
Ferry from Taronga which made stops at Watson Bay and Quarantine Station, which is apparently
the most haunted area in Sydney. I wish I had more time to explore as the Ghost Tour sounded really cool.
I got to Manly and waited
for Maddie and Andy to arrive. We were meeting at a really cool bar right by
the water called Manly Wharf Bar. We got a table outside which was right by the
water. It was so good to see them both. I used to go to school with Maddie at Invicta and
we were really close friends. She and her parents Jenny and Andy emigrated to
New Zealand almost 5 years ago so I’ve only seen her twice since then when
she’s been over for visits. The last time was around a year and a half ago so
we were very excited. I hadn’t seen Andy since they left either!
We spent a few hours
drinking wine and catching up which went SO quickly. It was so nice to talk
about old times and re-live our Invicta days.We were so busy chatting we didn't think to take any photos.
We were there for a few hours
and then I caught a ferry back over to Circular Quay to meet James. We went
back to his apartment and I met his flatmate Alex. Their flat is really cool
with a full sized pool table in the lounge and the biggest TV I have ever seen.
It’s like a cinema!
Alex was going on a
leaving do with some people from work in Newtown, an area of Sydney, and
invited James and I to join. A few of Alex’s friends came over and we played
pool and had a few drinks. The first place we went
to was an Irish Karaoke Bar called Kellys, which was ironic for James and I considering
our Irish roots. Alex did a rendition of Ice Ice Baby which was funny! James and I went on a bar crawl to a few other places in
Newtown, then met the others again and headed to a club.We stayed there for a
while with Alex’s friends, and then James and I went home around 1am, as we had
to be up early in the morning to go to Bondi Beach.
