As soon as we got back to Jenny and Andy's apartment, we started looking at flights to New Zealand. For a while it looked like it wouldn’t be
possible, but we worked it out that I could fly from Coffs Harbour, where I will be staying next week, to Sydney and then across to
Auckland.
We decided to keep it as
a surprise for Maddie, so I messaged her to say we couldn’t make the flights
work. I am looking forward to surprising her and SO excited to be able to go to New
Zealand, even if it is only for 48 hours. It will be great to be with Maddie
on her 21st birthday. Her 15th and 16th
parties were some of the best we went to as teenagers, so I’m really looking
forward to it.
I spent the afternoon
hanging out at Jenny and Andys apartment. I spoke to my cousin Nikki for the
first time since I had been in Australia, and also spoke to mum. Jenny is
making a canvas for Maddie’s 21st, so we went through some of the
old photos I had to of us which was really funny to look back on, especially
the drunk ones!!
Andy cooked us a really
nice prawn stir fry for dinner, and then a little while later Jenny dropped me
at the ferry port to head back to the city. It was nice to not have to say bye
but rather see you in New Zealand.
James picked me up from
Circular Quay and we drove round to the Opera House. I had seen it a few times,
but not up close.
The bridge looked amazing lit up at night so I got a few photos with that as we walked around.
We walked all around the Opera House and then went up the mains steps to get inside. It was a lot bigger close up than I thought it would be.
We then decided to get a
drink at the Opera Bar, which is right next to the Opera House and overlooks
the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We managed to get a table right by the water which
was nice.
We had our drinks and
then drove home. I was so tired from everything that day I went straight to
bed.
