Last day in Sydney & Pylon Lookout 07/08/16

I tried to have a lie in this morning but I woke up around 8. I spent a couple of hours sorting out my suitcase as it was my last day in Sydney. Around midday, James dropped my off into the city at Pitt Street, which is the main shopping area, as I had a few things I needed to get and sort before I left. I realised that my leggings had ripped so I went to HnM to get a new pair. I had to take back a bracelet I got in Adelaide, which had broken on my night out with Kath and Em in St Kilda. I also got my fringe cut, which I had been meaning to do since I got to Australia.

After I had wandered around the Sydney Westfield, I walked to the Pylon lookout on Sydney Harbour Bridge. I had been given a free entry ticket as part of my bridge climb, so wanted to make the most of it. To get there I had to walk across the bridge and climb the stairs, which was really cool but quite tiring.

The pylon gave some great views of the harbour!

There was also a museum which had lots of info about how the bridge was built.

I then walked to Circular Quay to catch a ferry to Manly. The transport in Sydney is so cheap on a Sunday, it only costs $2.50 max for as many journeys as you like on your Opal Card. I had arranged to meet up with Charlotte and Megan who I had shared a room with in Surf Camp. I caught the ferry and then walked to Manly Beach. They had met loads of people on their Ultimate Oz tour, so I also met their friends Lauren, Marlon, Tamsin, Matt and Cam.

We sat on the beach for a bit chatting and watching people play volleyball. We then went and got some tea at a café called Three Beans. We stayed there for a while planning our trips up the East Coast, and then went to catch the ferry back to Circular Quay at around 5.30ish.

The journey back was really rough, and I was so glad I had taken sea sickness tablets. Lauren and I went to the toilets when we got back and managed to lose the group for around 10 minutes which was quite funny. I then had to say goodbye to the group as they were getting the train back to the city centre and I was getting a bus back to James. We agreed we would all meet up along the East Coast.

I caught the bus straight back to Roseberry and had dinner with James. I got a call from Kath and was also able to skype my mum and luckily got to speak to Darren, Kim and Rhiannon. It was so good to be able to see my little niece. I can’t believe how much she has changed already!

After I had finished chatting, I spent some time sorting my stuff out. As it was my last night, I needed to pack everything up and get ready to move again. I was getting the train early to Newcastle in the morning, so tried to get an early night.
