I decided to spent the
day relaxing after Surf Camp as I was so exhausted. I got up around 10am, and
spent a couple of hours sorting out everything in my suitcase. I didn’t leave the house,
but I spent lots of time planning my trip for the East Coast and updating my
blog. James cam home from work around 1pm and we had lunch together. I also met
Alex’s girlfriend Jenny and her three kids.
I decided to book a
Hunter Valley tour for the following day that my friend Rowena from uni had
done a few weeks earlier and recommended. I spent ages talking to
mum and found out my little niece Rhiannon had had an accident and split her head open
the day before :( It definitely made me realise how far away I was!
James came back around
6pm and we decided to go out for dinner. Our first stop was a little path by the harbour which had some amazing views of the city, opera house & bridge.
As I hadn’t been out in the Rocks yet,
James took me to a few bars there. The first was the Australian Hotel, which we
looked around. We then went to the Glenmore, which had an amazing rooftop bar overlooking the
opera house.
Apparently the rooftop bars are a massive thing in Sydney. I had
fish and chips for dinner and then James showed me around the Rocks. We walked
down the Argyle stairs that I had to walk up for my Bridge Climb which led to
Argyle Street.
James then took me to a
really cool Rock Bar called Frankies. There was a band with some great rock
music and we were lucky to get seats right at the front. We stayed there for a
while and then walked back to the car through Circular Quay.
We got home and then I went
to bed.
